This is a Torchlight II forum, so the answers you'll get will be pretty biased.

With that said, I would honestly say I've enjoyed Torchlight II much more than DIablo 3. Played D3 around 80-90 hours, haven't touched it in months. Still Playing T2, around 230 hours, and looking forward to much more. I'm excited for what the modding tools will bring.

If you're the type who is more into Diablo's storyline and a streamlined, kinda "dumbed down" approach to ARPG genre, then play Diablo 3. Diablo 3 doesn't have nearly as much value as TL2, especially considering how much TL2 costs!

There's no doubt that TL2 is the better, more enjoyable game. That being said you should also check out Path of Exile. Path of Exile is a great game itself and it's free. TL2 has more to it though at the moment and is undoubtedly the best ARPG out right now.

I was wondering, did you try Path of Exile (Free).

DIII sucks. The DRM sucks. Blizzard sucks.
T2 is good. The DRM sucks.

If is true, don't let that fool you . Most people ( or should i say all ) that bought diablo 3 , bought it because thought that gonna be as good as Diablo2 and lots of people that play Diablo 3 only play it to farm and sell the itens in the RMAH

I'm not saying that Diablo 3 is a bad game but i like more Torchlight 2.

Anyway , you could try both demos and decide which one you like more

Diablo 3 has a free edition that lets you play up to a certain boss with a level cap of lvl 13. It's not as bad as the extreme bad reviews say, but it's not near as good as it should be after so many years of the Diablo franchise being in limbo.....

Diablo 3 started-off as one of the greatest ripoffs in gaming history. a game both bad AND overpriced.
as far as I know, patches came out and made it better.
now it's finally comparable to TL2 in content, and better in graphics - but still lacks in gameplay options (LAN, offline single-player, end-game maps, difficulty selection options).
maybe it'll actually be a good game in a year or so idk.

but it's still 60$. that's the same as a bundle of 4 copies of Torchlight 2 (!)

and Torchlight 2 was great from day one, and just keeps getting better.
once mods get official support - it'll reach epic status.
there are good unofficial mods already, which make it the best value-for-money game of the decade.

best answer is try both and decide.
Diablo 3 demo comes with very limited content, and caps you at level 13.
Torchlight 2 demo allows you to play Act 1 completely, for free.
