False advertising I call it...

"Moddability - TorchED, the Torchlight II editor, will give players the ability to create their own mods, adding even more content to the world. Have your friends download the same mod and play together. TorchED will be available as a separate download very shortly after launch."

I am still waiting for it but I think there is no point now..

The game released in September, so i don't think the lack of the editor is false advertising at this point.
Look at Diablo 3, it still doesn't have the promised Team PVP since release.

I'm sure that they are going to deliver it, because the devs strongly agree with mod support, they just love it. Better late than never, it's going to be worth the wait.
The never advertised the editor as being part of the game. It WAS stated on the box copy but that was their publishers doing and not theirs.
Ever seen any other game where the dev's are so positive about it that it even has Achievements you can unlock with installing mods? ^^

Just have patience, it sure will be worth the wait. Also, they've given a time scheme, they're first wanted to work on localizationing languages, which is done now as far as I know.

Afterwards they wanted to work on some free DLC that was planned for early 2013.

And soon afterwards their main focus would be releasing the Mod Tool.
i hope for WS, coz in games like DungeonDefenders and Skyrim greately improved with it . . .
But for DunDef it took a loooong time to go online so i keep waiting for it ^.~
All I hope for is thta is easy accessible like the Editor of Far Cry 3, Time Splitters Franchise or Tenchu 2 :)

If it's anything like that I'll certainly try creating some stuff too.

Boxed? Since when is there boxed copies?
there are still the official forums with much mods but steam workshop would be very cool!
Lol dont even mention diablo... pvp was ment to be out month after release :P

I was just hoping to get some funky stuff from workshop. I guess there are mods elsewhere but you know.. :P
There are box copies on sale but only in Russia and Germany. As far as the Steam Workshop goes, don't forget about the Runic Games Fansite and their Hotspot2.0 mod manager. .

It has mods, it is just on another website. Google Torchlight 2 mods.

new areas in Mapworks. Elite mobs. special, unique bosses in overworld areas. a new class (Necromancer). new sets of loot including Legendaries.
and that's just a fraction of the list of changes compared to vanilla TL2.

The first things you listed sound indeed awesome, but

"new sets of loot including Legendaries."

was a pretty hard turn off for me, assuming it will also affect the Droprate of them :/

Why does everyone feel the need to mess with the Legendaries? ._. They're fine as they are in my opinion. Well, only thing that could be improved would be to add Legendary Armor as well and not only weapons.
