Only 10 active mods at once?
Any way to get past or increase that? I am using the retexture mod, and that alone takes up 3 slots. I want to be able to add in new classes and things like that as they come in, and I don't really want to have to take out a mod to use them.
My machine can handle it lol. I run over 100 mods on Skyrim with no issues at all.

I know, I saw that earlier and was like "Wat? Really? Are we serious with this?"

i am sure it will not be long before somone fixes this. it is my guess that it's a stability issue.

Hey Brian, any chance Runic could toss a tutorial up on the wiki on how to merge mods together? Not necessarily mods we make ourselves (although that would be ideal as well), but take the mods other people have made and combine them all into one big mod for personal use.

Yeah, it said we can merge them, but it doesn't say how. Is there a turorial you can recommend?

Yep, there will be more about this later, but basically you just need to unpack the mods and merge the Media folder and generate a new .mod file to merge into one mod. This is what you'd want to share with your friends.

Modpacks will need to be centrally-maintained distros because Person 1 who uses mods A and B to generate merged mod C will *not* have the same mod as Person 2 who uses mods A and B to generate merged mod D.

Awesome, that is exactly what I wanted to hear Brian. I only play TL2 by myself or with a few personal friends, so this is the solution I wanted to hear. Once I hit the mod cap it'll give me an excuse to crack open GUTS to try something besides mod merging...

Thanks again for the support!

Thank you so much! :D

Boy, that sure makes you glad to have things like the Synergies mod available.
In any case, I get why 10 mods is a limit; any more and online would be a chaotic mess to try to connect to other players.
Thank you for the tutorial!

Why is there a mod limit anyway? Always seems to be some trouble with steamworkshop I notice.

It has something to do with multiplayer.

Multiplayer is dead, so why should I have to be hasseled with merging mods? And besides, how exactly would that even work for mods here? If an author updates one, wouldn't you have to make a new merged mod every single time?

There's six pages of the basic mode alone, and another half dozen on the modded section as well.
It is still thriving.
But a mod packing program would be pretty awesome.
