Might wait for Sony Vegas
I've been wanting a video editing software for a good while now. So I may pick this up if I dont see Sony Vegas pop up soon.

No MAGIX is better...easy to handle and see. Sony Vegas is very confusing and messing.

Hmm interesting. Would Magix br good for editing video game footage for Youtube?

Yes it really your decision. I use ( Sony Vegas 8 ) years ago very confusing and never use again...

I love Sony Vegas, but this software is one of the best. ;) I wish Steam would add Movie Director.

You might like to give this a try (there's a free version, to get your feet wet, too):

(The pro version has a load more format support, mind, if you want to avoid too many transcode generations, for stuff that you can't just rewrap losslessly with FFMPEG. Oh, and obviously, DNxHD support is an external license, but that probably doesn't matter for most casual users)

Well, umm, if you didn't understand all that stuff, you probably don't need to know it. People who do a lot of video tend to be interested in that sort of detail..

(..though admittedly, they probably don't need to buy an NLE package from Steam)

Anyway, it's pretty grown-up software, with pretty decent performance, for people who want something a little more professional, but don't want to spring for Avid Media Composer or the other big boys. Oh, and the trimming tool is awesome..

(I am more of a habitual FCP user, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone :D)

What I think of new Sony Vegas I think too expensive...
DetCord Jan 23, 2013 @ 7:10pm
Apples to Oranges.

Vegas, Adobe Premire, etc etc are professional video production software.

Magix, Corel Pro X5, Sony Movie Studio, and the like are video edting software. There's a big difference.

I am using Adobe Premiere and I find it as best way to edit video profesionally. I had Sony Vegas, Pinacle Studio and I am thinking that this isn´t worth buying too. If someone try this software out and being more satisfied than with Premiere let me know. Thanks.
