XCOM mods and add-ons?
Does anyone know if there are any Mods for XCOM, I've already got the special edition, or is the game still too new?
Perhaps freebe mods?

The military retexture pack in Nexusmods.
Can anyone help?

Unfortunately XCOM is not very mod-friendly.

XComGame.exe is located in your steam directory (if you installed it the default one)
c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\

Don't forget to backup your files first or you'll be sorry..

When I use the Tex Mod all I get is:
♥♥♥♥ happened (D'oh).
I wish modding this game was a bit more stright forward. :(

My suggestion:
Don't mod this game. It wasn't designed for mods and you have to break it to mod it. If you can't find the exe, then you probably shouldn't be trying to replace it. You are setting yourself up for problems, particularly with updates.

I've been playing the Warspace extension on impossible/ironman. It adds alot of tweaks to the game and overhauls the UFO part of it. To take down a medium UFO you end up sending like 4 interceptors with heavy lasers one after another to slowy take down just a medium UFO. or busy them enough to stop blowing up your satellites.

But it can be hard as instead of having max of 5 enemies on screen if you screw up you end up with 15 enemies on screen.

I think that if you can’t mod a pc game, than the odds that you'll get bored with it quickly may be quite high.
It’s a shame because it’s such a good title, I’ve always loved XCOM, perhaps you’re right, I should leave it alone and play it till I get sick of it, than dump it.

I'm all for modding. I spent a huge chunk of my time modding HL2 back in the day. I enjoy this game so much I'd be working on new weapons and armor armor right now if modding was supported.

Don't give up hope and keep an eye on the Nexus. It's likely that someone will create a utility that handles replacing the files automagically, allowing people to switch mods on and off easier.

As it stands now, replacing the exe is involved in a lot of these 'mods'. I am not willing to go there for several reasons, security being the main one.
