“Oil see you in hell!!!”
Like a chess game where both players move at the same time, you learn more about movement, weaknesses, strengths and the like in beating your opponents in the battlefield.
Best described as an unpolished gem, this strategy outing is rough around the edges but still manages to give you tough and enjoyable complex challenges.
It is hard to give the game a better score when all the common tropes are in place and taunting you with the bad voice acting. The plot is predictable, the characters are mind-numbingly simple, and the campaign ended too soon, for me (13 hours). Even the cut-scenes themselves were hard to enjoy because it was either skipped because I accidentally clicked during it or it was out of sync for whatever reason. Also, multiplayer is dead so don’t even bother. But even with all of these bad elements, it didn’t stop the single-player experience from being insanely challenging and fun!
Strategy was the name of the genre and it definitely filled my cup. The naval units make sense and the upgrades truly matter in each stage you traverse. And let’s not forget the graphics which are amazing by the way. You can watch everything any direction you want and if you are feeling edgy, you can watch your battles in a cinematic-follow mode, all in your glorious PC rig graphics!
Don’t mind the plot and just ignore the voice acting. Focus on the game mechanics and you will enjoy every minute spent.
I recommend it to buy it during a sale.
That voice acting though…
