So i made a little video from my sunday expermientation. Hope you guys like it even if the sound is crappy will make a better video next time with better sound!

Nice work you guys!
This looks like a very good start and as I've said before it could be an optional thing, so that low end computers can uncheck this and still be able to enjoy the game.
As for the lighting, for me, it looks like a perfect screenshot at how it should be around 2:09 here. The tunnel is increasingly dark as it is deep, yet the main rooms with torches are lit up.

I wasn't able to catch if you're using several different versions of "darkmode" here or if it is the same all over, but at i.e. 1:11 -> 1:20, the space in front of the king seems awfully dark considering that there's a brazier right behind him and a torch on the wall, so the lightsources at that point seems a bit weak.

Really looking forward towards doing some beta-testing if you guys decide to release that to the public. :)

There are some diffrent version in this video where I played around with how much every light sorce had. i will do some more where there is more ambient. And also make a version with realtime shadow casting

Very nice! This really gives the game a welcome dose of atmosphere. I especially like the little pools of light around the diggers. I'm also thinking I'd like to play without the question marks now too, I hadn't even considered the implications of that.

Super excited to try this out!

Very nice, good work! About those performance problems: Wouldn't be there a way to merge static meshes to reduce those draw call issues? Same goes for the (static) light sources, dynamically generated lightmaps might be worth looking into.

I thought the first part of the video was a bit too dark over all. I think I preferred how it looked at 1.21

They are instanced but still is a huge effort to render.

also, removing the question marks just makes for a more rounded game in my opinion. traps are actually going to be usefull.

It's hard to tell if the dark is apropriate or not, Youtube has a tendency to darken already dark videos from my experiences with them so that makes it a bit tough to say that the level or dark that you are showing us is good, too dark or too light. I'd say that a level of darkness that still shows the outline of the blocks that have been dug out is okay since then we can still see the walls to put torches on to light them up.

Keep up the great work guys. You've gone above and beyond the call of duty. Hopefully it will make you mad crazy profits in one way or another.

Can't they just add torches automaticly ? That's kinda a lot of micro management to light up everything.

Love it, this was one thing i noticed right off, no darkness. Making it optional will solve the problem of those with older computers, as they can just turn it off if it slows down the game. i'd also like to second the motion of having monsters spawn in unlit areas. Make it an option once darkness is selected, will give old mineshafts that arent lit up some danger, and make military and traps useful once all events have bee opened.
