Securom Question?
ok, so lets say i install BAC ony my computer, and i use the securom removal toolo, so what does this mean for my game, does that mean i can play my game without activation(online excluded from game obviously)....if i use it does that mean i can still uninstall BAC and install it later then use securom removal tool again to play the game offline no activation required....theoretically meaning no install limit, or is the install limit an issue wether securom has been removed or not?

i am confused with that too, but as i get it, when you use revoke tool, it get you back activation code you used for installation, so basically if you do one pc installations at the time, you are good for unlimited number of installs (if you use revoke tool every time after uninstall). but i don't know when to use revoke tool, before or after uninstallation? and if someone has clear answer to all this, please explain.

Okay. The revoke tool is to remove your securom licence from your pc, giving you back the activation you used to play the game in the first place. After which you can no longer play the game without activating it again. This does NOT give you unlimited activations, as the revoke tool only works two or three times. After that it will no longer work. So don't use it unless you have to! Hope that clears your question up. The game gives you a 5 machine limit, and you can only activate it 10 times per machine. That's it. After that your game is useless. Good old securom...and they wonder why people pirate...

It's the most secured game ever) Steam + GFWL+Securom. Some developers are so greedy. I wonder why they hadn't used Starforce and hardware keys also))

Steam is the expection, since steam doesnt have installation limits, and can be used offline with no activation limits....STEAM FTW

It's just the publisher or / and developer greed. And they lie to you before you buy the game because there is no mention on the game's store page about limited use. So technically they are criminals, imho.

I wouldnt go so far as to say criminals, but it is abuse of high position...but we also need to think, alot of times, devs such as rocksteady are generally console game developers, and as such, know nothing about porting PC games....so its like saying them making a pc port is the same thing as asking your wife to buy a sports car(then she comes back with a miata and a cut credit card).....rocksteady had no idea GFWL was such a terrible thing, and you notice, rumors are suggesting there will be no GFWL in BAO, so they might've finally learned their lesson when it comes to PC Ports.

Hope so,,, But it's really bad model to rectify deficiencies. People think twice about buying next game published by WB. Maybe they include GFWL maybe not, maybe it'll be securomed, maybe it'll be donated free to play and so on.
On the other hand it's a great way to cure addiction to video games playing. You think: "Why should i pay to people who don't give a damn to make they their product a little more user friendly?" Then you go outside to play chess in the park then playing. playing, playing... Oh no!!! ))

Yeah I do like steam, and even if Valve go under, we can still use the games under offline mode :)

This doesn't sound right to me. Can anyone confirm this?

Securom and a couple similar license activation DRMs allows you to revoke the activation just so you don't run out of licenses. So yes you should be able to endlessly install if you properly revoke your licenses.

Of course this doesn't help if you forget when you reinstall an OS or your PC dies.

Id be revoking before uninstalling.
Weedian Jul 15, 2013 @ 5:48am
i read somewhere that revoking is limited too, after 2-3 times it doesn't work anymore.
