번역 관련 문제 보고
I got this game through some third party means, then I later decided to buy the key.
After entering the authentic key in the GFWL interface, it asks me to download the update, which I did.
I then close the game and the update runs, but gives me an error, related to not locating the game.
After some surfing, I found out that I have to help the setup locate where the game is. Meanwhile, I've already located where the setup downloaded and kept a copy to try again late. (using Taskmanager to locate where it is running from).
so I ran the setup using cmd (in administrator mode) like this -
setup.exe /f "<directory>\batman arkham city"
This worked (as in, the patch was successful), but when the game opens, nothing happens. I later realized the game stops loading in task manager at like 22,176kB and it just stays there forever. When I kill the process and re-run it, it only advances by a few kb and stops again.
I then decided to patch the game manually, by forcefully installing the setup to an empty folder, then replacing the files in the games folder little by little. I eventually replaced everything except the batmanAC.exe
When I did this, the game opens, but GFWL client does not load....hence no saves!
SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!
After all the annoying, long verification process at hotcdkey.com, I finally got the key ($24) and applied it to the G4WL client in the game.
The game downloads an update, but the update doesn't install, due to some error about locating the game folder (I located the update while it ran using Task manager and copied it to use later). So I re-ran it using cmd and applying the /f "<game directory>" command at the end (I had to read through forums to know how to solve this mini problem btw).
After the update installs, that's when the main problem started. The game won't load after I opened the BatmanAC.exe. It would just sit there in taskmanager at 21,755kb or so, with no progress. when I end process and re-run, it just advances by a few kilobytes and stays there.
I read in a forum somewhere that deleting/moving the gameservices.dll will fix this issue. In my case, it did...partially. As in, it game was then requesting for the original disc, which I didn't have.
To cut the long story short, (after several trials) I found a no cd fix at http://www.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_batman_arkham_city.shtml#Batman: Arkham City v1.0 - v1.1 [MULTI8] Fixed Files
Made a backup of my binaries folder and replaced with the one in that fix...and I then applied the update over the nocd fix.
Voila, it worked...the day's effort wasn't in vain...LoL
