Any reason why I can't play this on full?
I have had a look at the optimum system requirements for this game from about six different places and I am certain I have more than enough to play it. It is just that when I turn the DX11 settings off the game runs perfectly, with them on it runs like ♥♥♥♥. I thought there was supposed to be a patch released to fix the old DX11 issues, so either that hasn't worked (for me) or this isn't the same issue. I mean surely optimum system requirements means you can turn ALL settings onto full and have it run fine?

The recomended is a 2.5GHz dual core, I have a 3.3 i7 Quad, and 2GB of graphics memory on an nVidia GeForce GT 640M, I have 8GB RAM and am running this at 1366 x 768 resolution.

I mean this is a laptop and I always take a little bit off for the comparison if the specs are close to my maximum just to be safe but as far as I can see I exceed the recommended by quite a way. By the way as a comparisson my laptop DOES play Crysis 1 on maximum settings without any issues.

Dx11 doesn't do much. Makes the ivy look a bit better when it works, which it doesn't most of the time. It's not in the game much anyway. It has other stuff that affect fps with little visual improvement. Just run dx9.

Yeah, I did find this fix thing where you can delete some files before you start the game and it starts working pretty well but I can see little to no difference anywhere to care about it so I'll just turn that stuff off from now on I think. Thanks for the input anyway.

Check the thread on raising the fps if you want to run it with DX11, a lot of tweaks do seem to make a difference, i've managed to get it running pretty well by applying the bmengine edits but yeah try lowering the settings first. Is the fix laptop specific?

No I think the one I used was available for the game in general but it might be steam only I'm not sure. The fix was basically where you go into the file that appears in My Documents and you delete a few of the files in there. You then start the game with DX11 on and it should work and seems to work but like I said the differences (if there are any) are not anything to go mental over. I might try yours actually always worth a try.

It's just stuff i picked up around the forums. It's still not perfect but it's playable. There's a guy who's done an ini file for older systems, i tried it and batman ran superfast although the graphics were poor but tweaking that seems to have the biggest impact on performance, i'm still trying to find which ones stop it from lagging when i'm crouching or running though...
