.NET Framework Problem
I go to open the game, click Configure PC Settings (sp) and suddenly a message appears. It reads: "Unhandled Exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object." When I click Continue, I get the setting screen as usual, except now each option has a black bar over it and I can't click it. If I just go into the game per usual without going into the settings, my game doesn't respond to my keyboard & mouse. Yes, I've tried verifying the cache multiple times. Any help guys?

EDIT: Full error report...

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

BUMP! I've updated the original post with an error report accompanying the error message.
RiO Oct 25, 2013 @ 4:25pm
The launcher clearly errors during parsing of the ini file; it raises a NullReferenceException inside BmLauncher.IniFile.ParseKeyValue, which is not properly handled by the launcher application itself, prompting the default "Unhandled exception" dialog.

If you opt to continue that likely means you get a half-broken, half-populated pool of settings from the ini file and the launcher still writes that incomplete pool of settings into a new ini file before launching the game. This is likely why your keys don't respond; the bindings weren't written to the ini file.

As for the reason for the exception in ParseKeyValue: my guess is WB/Rocksteady botched the launcher's number parsing and are not passing a specific number format to the parsing routines from the .NET framework. That means the formatting from your default system locale is used instead of the en-US locale the launcher was probably intended for and that may cause problems if the number representations differ from the en-US ones. (E.g. in many European countries the role of the decimal point and comma is reversed; using a period as a thousands separator and the comma as the decimal separator.)

Thank you for that well-worded response, but do you perhaps know how I may go about fixing this error?

Try setting your system locale to English US or a locale with a similar representation for numbers (period as decimal seperator; comma as thousands separator)

I just did, nothing. You just mean setting it right? Not setting it and then uninstall and reinstall the game?
