Floor Grates Problem In Batman: Arkham City
I'm currently in the GCPD building in the PC version of Batman: Arkham City and I cannot get out of the building through the floor grates near the entrance using the Left Control key and the Space bar. I have tried rebinding the keys but that has not worked. Is there any other way to fix this problem? Thanks.

Have you hacked the panel, as the voiceover prompts implied?

What voiceover prompts?

The comms dialogue between Batman and Alfred where Batman says he's downloading the municipal lock codes. After obtaining the codes, you can now use the Cryptographic Sequencer on the panel in the small room accessed through the floor grate to hack the WayneTech security panel, collect accessible Riddler trophies, and exit the GCPD.

Oh, that. I can't even get into that room through the grates. That's my problem. I've tried rebinding the keys and I've gotten nowhere with that. I've tried waiting for all of Penguin's goons to come toward the entrance so that I can knock them all out and go out the way I came in but that hasn't worked. I've also looked for the ingame scene with the Joker that I've heard people talk about but I've never seen it. You'd think that when people are paying for something that they'd get what they paid for. I didn't pay $4.99 on Amazon.com to see Batman get stuck in a police station with no way out. Right now, this game, along with the fact that nobody has bothered to fix the bugs in it, sucks.

My bad, I use a gamepad so I misunderstood your progression block. I just ran a simulation on a saved game and LCtrl and Space bar worked for the grates on my keyboard. If you have a plug-in keyboard, I would try another keyboard and see if that works. You might have a soft key on your keyboard from frequent use, but some of the lower-end keyboards can't handle multiple button inputs. You might also try deleting your bminput.ini file, then rebind keys. Hope this helps.

My keyboard, which is a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 3000 v2.0, is only 3 months old. I think the folks at Rocksteady Studios don't know how to design games. A lot of people have been having the same problem with Batman: Arkham Asylum. They need a patch for this as well as the stuttering and lip-synching issues.
