Crashing at Checking DLC

So after months of hanging loose and figuring it was a bug or something I decided to come back and try to play Arkham City again... And I am still getting this redonkulous error crash at Checking DLC

All my drivers are current I'm running AMD Catalyst Feburary 2nd Drivers for my AMD Radeon 6520G and if I can play crysis or even Ghosts and BF4 on this PC this game shouldn't be an issue.

When was the last time you played ?
Did you patch your saves after the removal of GFWL ?

Even if you don't need to patch your saves, the "possible complications" part of the guide could give you hints to solve this.

Ok, it is not a GFWL issue, but you might have a corrupted savegame/"remotecache.vdf".

Try this:

• Start your game.
  
• Use alt-tab.
  
• Go to "Steam\userdata\<userid>\200260\remote".
  
• Move your sgd files out of here (keep a backup !).
  
• Go back in the game.
  
• "Click to start".
  
• Replace any corrupted save by a new one.
  
• Use alt-tab again.
  
• Put back your sgd files in the aforementioned folder.
  
• Go back in the game and exit.
  
• Restart the game.
  
• Check if it worked.

Let me know if this works or if it crashes somewhere.

Same issue here. This IS NOT a GFWL or a saved game issue as I have no saved game (fresh install) and GFWL has been patched out.

Yup, it's the same issue I'm currently dealing with. Did you change you steam games install location?

Stupidest solve in the world for me atleast... from within your library (and list of games) do the following:

Right click and do properties.
In the new window go to updates
If enable steam cloud synchronization is greyed out where you can’t get to it click the hyperlink underneath
Goto cloud
Enable cloud for games that support
Apply and close
Go back to game
Disable steam cloud sync
Apply and close **
Go into properties again
Enable
Apply and close
Your game will do some potential brief downloading
The issue should be resolved…

Who would have figured, do note that I did try to play ghe game first with cloud disabled and it crashed, so that’s why I re-enabled. All looks better for me.

If anyone is still interested, my issue stopped when I turned off cloud saving in Steam.
