What has this turned into...
I played this for 1 year or so, and I remember when Amulets of Resurrection were worth more than 1 Potion of Life.
...But everything changed, when the Kabam Nation attacked.
They began making updates after updates, planning to stop the duping and scamming in the game.
The other day, they are selling equipment for ridiculously expensive amounts of Realm Gold. And the item shop website spamming HASN'T stopped.
Today, I go on it cause a friend tell me, "kabam is now selling wc tops on nexus". I look at it. They are selling Tier 8 to 13 items, players are duping others' items for free, and 80% of my chatbox is full of "ROTMGPROSHOP NOW ONLINE 24/7 15% OFF SEE AT STORE".
Urgh. I haven't played Ace of Spades, but by the looks of it, this is turning out to be just like it: An indie game bought by a bankrupt company, which tricks us with fake updates just to add more uses for Gold; which means less money in our credit cards.
Think about it: If a newbie player just joins the game with a credit card and sees that, what will you think that will happen? Simple: A 0-star Level 1 Wizard with guest name using T13 items and beasting the REAL players, who earned their items from their bloody battles with Gods.
Do NOT play this game in it's current state: It'll only drive you crazy with newbie players blasting your face, extreme amounts of scammers/spammers, and Kabam EATING players' money. If all this never happened, we'd still be a happy society in a game by Wild Shadow Studios without new players using "WC Tops", or, the highest tier items. Only real players can have the rights to use these, and now... Everyone can, as long as they have enough money to throw away.
...Kabam, you make me very sad and disappointed. Words from a player who never got a T12 - T13 item by himself, but still loved the game and knows how most of the players feel after the Kabam revolution.

I agree just as much.

you have to realize that this is happening anyway, people are selling tops etc for money, im not defending kabam but it happens, just like steam community market, they try and change it to their advantage. 1. it is ridiculously expensive 2. IT IS SAFE, people who want to buy items will go ahead and buy items anyway, but kabam is making it safe by letting them buy it with gold. The so called noobs that buy these items will die in a couple of hours with these items so they are not a worry. the only thing is that it puts a cap on how valueable items are worth, T13 will never go above $7.50 so they stop most RWT going on as before, RWT for Rotmg is expensive. buying these items will not make you better at the game so really it does not matter if you buy them or not. being good at the game is not having good items, its about being able to do tombs and wc etc, you will get much more satisfaction playing this game without buying stuff, so if you keep playing you will eventually get these items FOR FREE. its not hard when you know what you are doing, hence being good at the game.

Okay, it is safe, but it is very stupid. The items do make you better in the game, I noticed. The noobs would easily go to LV20 with T13 items.
You WILL get satisfaction playing it for free, which is my point. This game was never meant to be P2W.

Additionally, "real players" know that items arent as good as maxing, so it is better to max than buy tops, a T10 set and maxed is better than T13/T12 set unmaxed, so really, a noob with a credit card would buy items, die then leave. ROTMG is a team game and just because some1 has tops does not make the "better" than you, it takes a bit of skill to play rotmg, and if you are getting beasted by them then undoubtedly you are not as good as them. There are damage threshholds and as long as you get that damage then you qualify for Soulbound

No game is Pay to win, despite whatever happens as long as it takes skill to play the game. take fifa, by buying the best team you can will not make you win against another player if you are worse than them.

As long as they dont sell UTs.
UltLolwut - ACTUAL Win10 Hype Mar 6, 2013 @ 11:22am
Considering we're talking about Kabam, who are selling special equipment packs for certain classes and the strongest items, then they'll probably sell UTs soon enough.

Totally agree with you, seeing more and more 1 star noobs going around with way better items than those i got in months.

Dodging > Gear

Honestly, Kabam steals money from people who don't know 3rd party sites exist. And anyone spending any money on gear is pretty stupid, imo.
I have this great way to get all the free loot you'll ever need, and Kabam will never remove it: kill things.

OP is one of those people who cares too much about trading and not enough about playing.

P.S. Adding Amulets was the biggest mistake made by Wildshadow, and removing Amulets was the best decision ever from Kabam.

I know I'm not exactly following the thread, but the title is, "What this game has turned into," or something of the sorts. I'm was wondering what has happened to pot drop rates. I know they no longer drop in the glands anymore, so where do they drop now besides difficult dungeon drops?
InsaneFirebat Mar 7, 2013 @ 11:38pm
Hi Mew!
Pot drops are back to normal in the godlands. In addition, drops in dungeons have increased tremendously. I've probably added 15 white bags to my count since the 9.0 release.

Amulets were not an issue until they were duped and anyone/everyone was wearing one.
