Can't Play Crosswords

My game has worked perfectly for weeks now and then all of a sudden my crosswords stopped working. I can pull them up but my mouse starts lagging severly and I cant click anything, Cant even pause to quit the game, have to manually close the game. All the other puzzles work fine. All drivers have been updated and reinstalled the game. Any ideas?
