TFC Skill
Okay, so despite coming from the tactless mess that is TF2 (I'm saying this despite my skill set being poor, even in that game), I would like to know what you would recommend to a newbie interested in learning to play the original Team Fortress. (I know it's not "technically" the original, so let's not play the semantics game.)

I won't bore you with the details. My ability to shoot is pretty much frozen waffles, but I want to step up my game and see if I can't learn to floor the enemy in a game that requires a lot of skill.

I come here because I know that TFC is full of veteran players who can kick my butt.

I want to lose, rage, and learn.

But before I open the game, some words of wisdom would be much, MUCH appreciated.

Thank you, and cheers.

Know how to make the weapon model appear in fov_110?

I assume you are using software mode. Poo PC? No idea.

default_fov 120!

MY biggest suggestion would be to just play, alot, with people that are better then you. I recently went active (13 year veteran), ive noticed alot of new people have been playing but there are still alot of "vets" out there, most willing to share how to do whatever....once you get out of the pubs and do some mulching for 3 hours straight youll start to pick up some♥♥♥♥♥♥
btw mulching is refering to a map, mulch_dm

[This man called TF2 a tactless mess, I'm QQ-ing in the deep corner... "Snuffles"]
I'd change some keyboard commands, if I were you. I recommend putting "Primary grenade" on "E" (so you could easily reach it and spam it, it has the came level of meta-game importanvy, like "Medic!"-command in TF2) and "Secondary grenade" on "T", or, "V" (for the same reason). Everything besideas that has been said here earlier.

I don't think I could play with grenade bound to E... that would intefere too much with the movement keys (assuming a WASD configuration) and make it nearly impossible to prime a gren and strafe at the same time. If you have a mouse with side buttons I've found they're ideal for binding grenades to. It allows you free range of movement, jumping, aiming, and priming all at once.

Yeah, you've got no chance of improving if you play like that. Maybe a double tap script but even then it still interferes with your bhop.

i use a hold grenade script, just takes two quick taps one to prime one to release, i can post it if anyone wants....i found a lagless timer one but ive found it kind of annoying, plays the timer sound even if im out of grenades and press the button

bind "f" "throwgren; primeone"
bind "g" "throwgren; primetwo"
