If Valve wanted to they could polish the game up and release it again, the base of the game is perfect with the chars you can choose and that maps are spot on, all it needs is a little polish and for it to get a really big by Valve on Steam.

Valve are sitting on a little gem but don't seem to reslize it.

I agree. This game is great, but its overshadowed so heavily by TF2. TF2 is a great game, dont get me wrong. But they're style is so different, and I enjoy TFC even to this day. Sadly it's slowly dying off more and more, which is such a shame.

I really wish Valve would just make the game free or do a free weekend or something. They make so much off of TF2 and Steam itself.

Keep this gem alive Valve! :)

I disagree with that, I think TFC2 sucks because its a bunch of cartoon characters. I know its just a video game but TFC is still the bomb, every one, every part is fun as heck to play. It doesn't matter if your good or bad or if your comp is a cray or a pong unit your still gonna have a blast. If some doofuss comes on and doesn't have a clue it makes all the other team members have to pick up his slack, every member has a task to do and they could/should be selling it for $49.95 all day long. But they probably decided to do that about a year ago but like HL2 it may be awhile before it truely happens. hehe You can really feel the comeradery (love) I mean what could be more fun than spreading a virus all throughout the enemy ranks!

I get what your saying at the begining of your post, you don't like TF2's artstyle, but about the rest of it you've completly lost me.

Nope, this game sucks ♥♥♥ and deserves to die off. While it might have been a great game at the time, to me it hasn't aged well at all.

Just my opinion.

Top of the community hub page, in the blurb: "One of the most popular online action games of all time", so I don't think Valve underestimates TF's importance (of which TFC is the still-available incarnation).

As someone who has dabbled with both (TFC nearer the time of HL1 and all the mods), I think the main problem with these games generally is just the incredibly high barrier to entry to people trying to play in public servers. Getting good at TF games makes multiplayer titles like COD:MW or Battlefield look like a walk in the park. Everyone who plays is, for the most part, just so darn good, especially if you factor in all the exploits (both legitimate and nefarious) available.

If Valve were to rekindle this title, proper public servers available to new players, with some kind of 'true skill' system would be required. For TF2 Valve, as usual, let the community pick up the slack here (with mentors etc.), but in my opinion it only goes so far to make TF accessible.

My memories of going down the internet cafe with a whole bunch of school friends and bumbling our way through hours and hours of TF and CS matches cannot be taken away, and they were great. Now all those friends are disbursed, and considering the general skill of most players still playing this game, these memories are sadly going to have to be what I settle with on this title, for now.

I just wish they could smooth out the textures a bit, maybe add some more updates and map/modes to the game like they do with TF2 I mean its an old game so I doubt the cost would be all that high...

Couldn't you made your opinion less harsh? I mean, you sound like one of those COD players on the TF2 forums who say the same exact thing.

My point exactly, hence why most people hate it when COD players say ♥♥♥♥ like that....

I've seen of couple but it's mostly due to TF2's popularity that's like that. TFC is barely known among non TF2 players.
