theres at least 3 or 4 servers in the US that can ALWAYS be seen with people online, theres an argentina server that occasionally fills up and theres also royston vasey for the EU players (I hope I didnt summon the trolls with mentions to the last one).
Of course theres always the less popular, but still fun skillmap servers, something you will NEVER get to experience in TF2, sure you can surf in TF2, but you can do that in just about any goldsrc/source server, concing, bhopping, nadejumping.. all of these things are unique to TFC, if you are planning on picking it up, you should get it to see all the things that were dropped in TF2 to fully understand why the game is referred to as a hat simulator instead of an actual game..
