Prince of Persia

Prince of Persia

Stuck on Loading
I can launch the game, get into options, etc, but once I click New Game it goes to the Loading screen and just hangs.

I've read the other threads, including the one about editing my DARE.ini to DISABLE_OPTIMISATION=TRUE

Still no joy.

Anyone know how to fix this?

same problem here and it seems there are no solutions. I'm using Microsoft 8.1 btw. Microsoft 8.1 is one of the worse OS for gaming ever so much trouble and instaiblity.

Figured out my problem, hopefully it will fix yours.

Enable V-synch. Worked like a charm surprisingly.

I'm on Win 7 though.
Thx, solved the problem for me.

Mmh. When I tried V-synch, I did not have the option to continue past the first "Prince of persia" screen (it does not display the "Press any button" to continue), but when I disable it, I get stuck on the infamous loading screen.
I don't have this problem with the DVD version :/

Wonder if there are any other solutions to this problem, I enabled V-Sync to no avail, as well as changing that one line in the coding from FALSE to TRUE, and had no luck. Kind of shocking how this is so buggy.

Got it, if v-sync doesn't work, disable it. It worked for me
If its disabled already just enable it and then disable it ingame for more fps ig idk
Mine is kinda different I have to change it up all the time i start up the game...

I am running on windows 10. So what worked for me. I put all the settings on max in the launcher, v-sync, AA, etc... And then I downloaded a patch for the game and ran the the game through the exe file. Works perfectly. So it doesnt really run through steam now, but atleast I can play the game. No freezes.

I know I'm late to the game. But I'm playing this on Windows 8.1. The solution I found was putting the PrinceOfPersia_Launcher.exe in Compatibility mode for Windows 7. Then I enabled Vertical Sync in the launcher's Settings menu. Good luck.

I have been trying everything on the web to run the game in W10. the only thing that worked for me was to put in Nvidia Control Painel, to run FAST in Vsync.

Here is where the fix was posted:

TO ANYONE READING THIS IN 2020!!!
Who will end up here by googling the issue, like I did.

Maybe in 2013 it was a good advice, to set your V-Sync ON, but it's 2020 and you don't have to do such a horible thing to yourself and introduce yourself to a disgusting lag brought by any kind of V-Sync.

If you have an Nvidia graphic card, you should be able to limit the FPS in Nvidia Control Paneloptions for speciffically this game, in modern drivers, there is a specific setting for how much fps should your PC produce, you can set it globally, you can set it for a specific program. If you don't have an Nvidia card, you can use the Statistic Runnin Server. It can limit fps any way you want, and for specific games too.

The point is, NEVER use V-Sync, there are better options aviable.

Right now i tested 120 fps limit in Nvidia Control Panel and it works just fine. Loads and runs smoothly. Will test 240 fps, as this is my refresh rate, will edit this coment then.

EDIT: 240 fps limit works just fine too. I assume, that 280 would work just as fine, as there are new 280hz IPS monitors on the market, even 360hz IPS lol, if any of you will get one of them.
