You sure it's not your video card that's the problem? I assume you've tried turning bloomscale off on your active camera.

I think my card is the i3 intel HD series 3000. Im running it on a laptop and it runs TF2 perfectly.

Your card is below the minimum requirements to run SFM. Just because you can run TF2 doesn't mean you can run SFM properly, the requirements are much higher. Also I really doubt that you can run TF2 "perfectly" with that setup. To my mind, running a game perfectly would mean every setting set to max running in the native resolution of the monitor at 60fps or better.

I had that bug once. Then I decided to go to Steam > Steam > Check for updates for Graphic Drivers, did what it told me, and BAM! No White Line Of Death any more!

Otherwise, you can turn the bloomScale of the Camera down to 0.
That helped me before I updated my Graphics Card.

You'd be supprised. Yeh, i dont think it runs at 60fps, and i do need to turn down settings a little to get a decent frame rate, but it does work at a very playable state.

If you have selected a camera is in the row "bloomscale".
you need that to zero.

Assuming that your GPU could run it, you'd still have a hell of a time trying to render anything.
