Particle systems error
Whenever i start up SFM, it usually loads fine. There's a window that appears that says that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements, however I usually ignore it because it runs fine. But when i try to add a particle system (medigun beam, rocket trail, etc.) the files arent there. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Do you mean that they do not appear physically in your scene, or do you simply not find the pcf files containing the particle systems?

i could not find any of the pcf files, and in the console window it has a huge list of the systems that are missing

The console always reports a boatload of errors, you shouldn't have to worry about that. The pcf files are in game/tf/particles and game/tf_movies/particles (the TF2 ones anyway). If they aren't, you should try validating your Steam cache files.

Same issue as me, by the sounds of things...?

Yeah, that sounds like my problem, and the folder usually gets directed to there. also how do i validate my steam cache files?

To verify game cache, right click on a game (in this case Source Filmmaker) and select "Properties". in the "Local Files" tab, click "Verify Integrity of Application Cache". If your problem is similar to EmperorJon's though, know that an empty pcf file after the program fails to load it right also happens to me, albeit only occasionally. The culprit appears to be dmxconvert.exe, in my case. I haven't tried deleting and redownloading it yet though, since it doesn't do it that often...
