After recording, how do I make a sentry fire? Also, how do I add an engineer bot so he will build a sentry? Thanks.

You need to attach sentry gun muzzle flares to the sentry and as well place a sound effect for it. For the Engineer, I'm not quite sure.

Simple answer

- To make a sentry fire you will have to import a firing sequence on it and add muzzle flare particles to it.
- Bots don't have AI, they won't build a sentry for you (read more below)

What you could try (it's interesting to work with bots)

You may want to record a sentry that's actually firing at a bot of the opposite team.
I actually made a video where I was testing automatic sentry firing, luckily I wrote down what I did.

Working with the bots is pretty easy although a lot of bot features that we see today are unimplemented (like the all containing 'tf_bot' commands).

I know how it works but I had never made a full sequence with it, so I did just that.

The most important commands are:

bot_selectweapon <bot name> <weapon slot>
weapon slot goes like 0, 1, 2...

This will move all bots to their opposite team

bot_teleport <bot name> <X> <Y> <Z> <Pitch> <Yaw> <Roll>
Instantly teleports the bot to specified location

Here are the steps I took:
- Recorded a take where a scout comes running into the intel room
- Went into game-mode, changed to engineer and built a sentry
- Spawned a bot, changed it to the other team and fixed whatever weapon I wanted him to equip
- Recorded a take as the engineer and teleported the bot in front of the sentry.

After this I cut up the shots to time everything correctly, I also changed the initial scout's skin because I was playing the same team as the engineer >_<
The shot I recorded with the engineer was actually a copy of the shot where the scout ran into the intel, this way I could time the bot_teleport properly.

For the record, I did this on ctf_doublecross at the blu intel room, the bot teleport command I used was:
bot_teleport Bot01 1553.642578125 2316.6352539063 -31.96875 0 135 0

I actually bound this to a button for easy access while recording:
bind k "bot_teleport Bot01 1553.642578125 2316.6352539063 -31.96875 0 135 0"

What the scene looks like

It was shot from outside like in the right viewport and the blue scout would be invisible (ignore femscout lol.)

Bots and SFM

Bots in SFM don't have the AI we see in TF2 (the 'tf_bot_' commands). They are just puppets and require manual input to actually do something, instead of receiving input from the AI controller seen in TF2.
To spawn an engineer bot named Loser on the red team, use this command:
bot -team RED -class Engineer -name Loser

Thanks a lot Lounger!

yeah thanks. I'll try this.

So I tried spawning an Engineer bot on Blu. Every time I spawn a bot, no matter what class I specify, it spawns a scout. Is this just a SFM bug that I am unaware of, or am I doing something wrong?

The command I used in-game was typed as follows:

bot -team 0 -class Engineer -name engineerone
