I can't load Portal (1) maps

I put all of it's content into SourceFilmmaker/game by taking it out of the GCF file, putting it in a folder I named 'portal', and put the folder in that directory. It seemed like it would work, and all of the stuff is there, but when I try to load a map from Portal, nothing comes up, even when the searchbox is clear. Please help.

Did you add portal to your gameinfo.txt file (if you created the portal folder in the game folder)???

If you're refering to the one in the 'Usermod' folder, then yes. I also have the one that I copied over from the GCF into the 'Portal' folder, if that's what you're refering to instead.

The tutorial that I read told me to write the path into the 'gameinfo.txt' in the 'Usermod' folder.

nope... the portal folder goes in the game folder, then add GAME PORTAL to the searchpath portion of the gameinfo.txt

also, if you don't have the materials in that folder, your maps may have purple and black checkerboards

The materials folder is in the 'portal' folder.

Ok,

1. GCFScape, open Steamapps\portalcontents.gcf
2. Select maps, materials, models, particles, and sound
3. right click and select extract.
4. point to SFM\game and create a folder (call it P1), select that folder and extract those to it
5. open gameinfo.txt file, find seachpaths and add game P1 to the path (put it below Game TF)

Close SFM, and restart, create session and look for a portal map when you go to load a map. (Select P1 in the mod filter... )

The BSPs should display, (they may not work as I don't think they have HDR enabled)
If not make sure you don't have a space in the map filter

So, what do I do with the 'portal' folder that I had previously?

delete it and anything portal you put in usermod
