SFM Box dead?
SFM Box was not responding recently, and saying Good Chrome could not connect to it or saying "this page is down".

It happens sometimes, seems their servers are a bit unreliable or something.

Either that or natural disasters effecting the servers!!!

SFMbox.com is back, or will be shortly. I just logged into it and found the following banner there.

New Resources Every Tuesday!

Site will be offline Friday August 9th. We are moving to a faster server!

garrysmod.org is online as well. I do know that it has been up and down like a yoyo lately. Probably having server problems as well.

I'm wondering how long SFM box is going to be up. updates have been sporadic lately. even going weeks without a new addition.

Might not be any new stuff going in... The upload a map file is misleading, is there a separate method for submitting models??? If so, where is it. I was going to send the queen that way.

I honestly don't know how to upload models. and I think they all just go to Dominic anyway.

Now is dead

Yup, it's a pity. I really liked SFMBox, but I can understand his reasoning too. It's a big commitment to fullfil the demand and meet the quality controls he set on himself. It was a top notch site as far as I'm concerned. It is a resource that will be truly missed.

I was thinking for some time, especially seeing the huge gaps in updates, that that simply isn't the kind of site one person can handle on their own. I mean, looking at the "maps to convert" folder alone shows how much work needed to be put into getting content out. I understand wanting quality control and having models/maps/etc go through a review process, but having that burden land at the feet of a single individual is a bit much.

Thankfully though, i don't think it will die completely. there are people looking into a replacement. Would need web developers though. We are seeing if we can pull strings.

Uh-ah, I ain't doing it... No way, No how... at least for one year anyway... I haven't caught up with HTML5 and the latest php and javascript routines... So, sorry, nope uh-uh!! (lol)

Yeah. I've been debating if I'd rather focus on actual animation, or try to carry the torch myself. I work for a hosting provider. Animation is supposed to be my escape. The good thing, if I decide to do something, is that I get pretty deep discount on web services.
