Puppetering
In the first shots the characters in my film moved perfectly in the motion editor, but now in the fifth shot none of them move at all. I can select body parts in the motion editor, but I can’t make them move. Please help.

Hello :). I wasn't going to link anyone this screen capture I made but just to be clear on the symptoms, was it like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hEO95YSPUA

If so, then the solution is this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Ey82HQUXPP8

In summary:
1. Go to your Clip Editor
2. Double click your shot, in this case, your fifth shot.
3. Look at the yellow rectangles and locate the characters you want to move.
4. Does the yellow rectangle for your model stop at the duration when you tried to move your characters?
5. Stretch the yellow boxes to the right to cover the rest of the duration that you want it to be moving.
6. Press the Upward Facing Arrow to return to the normal Clip Editor view.

I hope this helps! I have experienced another scenario where I couldn't move anything either but I couldn't pinpoint what caused it.

Glad to hear your first problem has been solved! That particular one had me stumped for a few hours haha!

Sorry I'm still new to SFM, I'm currently making my first video and sound is one of my last stages so I've not touched on that but hopefully I'll learn more about it soon.

Are you saying that the sound file abruptly stops? Do the lips still move? As I mentioned I've not touched on Sound, so the only thing that comes to mind is maybe something similar is happening but with the sound clip instead of the previous model clips? All I can suggest is double click and check around the Clip Editor.

No it's not the sound his lips just suddenly stop moving

If you moved the audio file from it's set head timer position when you did the extract phonemes without redoing the extract phonemes etc it will cause issues such as that, audio playing but the lips stop after a bit.

To fix, select all the mouth controls, go into the motion editor, with them still selected drag the playhead all the way to the right, (doing so will reset the mouth movements to nothing)
((Make sure the play head is at the start of the clip / shot))

Next, in the action editor with the audio dialog file selected, right click - re-calculate waveform, and then make sure the play head is at the start of the audio track to be played. (moving the playhead will ensure the audio and facial controls on the extract phonemes will start at that exact point)

Finaly, select all of the facial controls only and select extract phonemes as per usual,

Now it should be back into sync, if you shift the audio track on the time line etc or anything you will need to repeat this process to fix.

I tried it but it didn't work, and it's not just the lips that stop, his entire body stops moving until the end of the shot

Never mind I solved it, thank you for your help :)
