SFM Launching Error - Can't Connect to Steam
Everytime I go to launch SFM, it starts, shows the splash/initial load screen for a second. Crashes and shows an error message claiming SFM needs a connection to Steam...
Why this isn't working I don't know.

My PC meets requirements fine, although I AM using Windows 8 as opposed to 7, but never seen that bother any other software before?

I've found a way to launch SFM from this problem, but it isn't much. Just open up your Steam, Go to the Library tab, find Souce Filmmaker on the left side, right click it, click "Properties", Click on "Set Launch Options", type in "-nosteam", then click "OK" then you're done. SFM should launch with no problem. Unfortunately, SFM will be missing some features and you have to repeat this process everytime you quit and restart SFM.

You should be able to install mods. Did you check to see if you installed them correctly? Also make sure to check in the search pane in SFM. Sometimes you have to refresh too.
