But seriously, not much we can help you with, it's a matter of your interests, what you want to do, or learn. How I build ideas is based around tests. to see if I can do something.
i'll use two videos i've done as examples
http://youtu.be/i8ugMpo-g0w
http://youtu.be/ds45gYbn6HI
The first video I did because I wanted to test out the sfmphys physics script. I knew I wanted to test and i thought of what I do to test it with, the rest of vid built up around that idea.
The second video was I wanted to test a new particle system I got, plus I had this revolver model that didn't have any animatable parts. it was all bodygroups (one normal, one with the cylinder open, with bullets, without, etc), and I wanted to see if I could create a decent looking reload animation just by changing bodygroups. then expanded from there.
it's the same technique Pixar uses when making their shorts. all of pixars animated shorts are just animation tests with a story built around them. Geri's game for example was simply a test for cloth physics.

so you can think like that. think of something you want to try or test and expand on it.

anyway, i find music gives me a lot of ideas. when i'm listening to something i can't help but let my imagination run wild about action i'd like to see playing to the music.
but yeah, music is a great inspiration as well. Listen to the song over and over and try to picture events happening as it plays.
BTW: left a comment on that vid.
Here's a link to the videos... https://www.youtube.com/user/SourceFilmMaker/videos?sort=da&flow=grid&view=0
Start a 0 and work your way to 13.3
The SFM DMX file for the videos can be found in your
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\tf_movies\elements\sessions\tutorials
folder
Once you get through them, you'll have a pretty good basic knowledge of the program. Then move on to other stuff out there. One site I highly recommend is Jimmer Lins' site. (I wish he'd come back) at https://www.youtube.com/user/JimerXLins/videos?sort=da&flow=list&view=0
You can pretty much jump around with his stuff, the videos are very informative but in no real particular order.
I have a bit of stuff on my channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/PteJack1/videos?view=0&query=sfm&flow=list&sort=dd, again in no particular order.
