How to import Counter Strike Source materials, maps, models, etc.
It seems to be broken. When i use gcfscape there is no counter strike source gcf file, i cant find it. I looked everywhere so i went into the cstrike folder in common folder and there is a cstrike_pak01_dir and exported it to usermod, made a cstrike folder in the sfm game folder and exported it there and edited gameinfo in usermod and added game cstrike and that didnt work. What do I do?

CS:Source is now found in the Common folder. This will work for you, igore the part about the Batch File, the DX80 files are still in the vpk file. Just substiute CS_Source for CS:Go

Nah, I think you misunderstood what Supereverything01 was saying. There isn't anything inside the pak.dir after the update. There's no longer a gcf file and all the files have been moved to the "Common" folder, except there doesn't seem to be anything inside the pak.dir files. When you try and open them in GCFscape, they're empty, so there isn't anything to extract. I've been successful doing the whole extraction thing with other games like L4D2, but this one isn't working out because those paks seem to be empty.

I just uninstalled GCFScape and reinstalled it. Now all the files appear. I recommend checking out the video's that Pte Jack posted but they can be a little overwhelming if you've never done it before. A perfect tutorial (in my opinion) would be this one here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5AG-9aV0Bc

Go there and download the file provided. Follow the instructions and copy the .batch file from that file you downloaded. As Pte Jack said, just substitute CS:S for CS:Go and if you followed the steps to the letter, everything should work out fine.

If you learn better from reading rather than video tutorials, try this community guide. These two things helped me the most:

can someone make an dropbox or medafire download with all the stuff from pak01dir vpk (csgo materials that you need to import)

Why would we do something like that? If you own the game the process is simple, if you don't own the game, it's piracy...

I'm trying to do this with CS:Source, but nothing is showing up. What am I doing wrong?
