Help: corrupt/flickering textures
I wanted to make a custom particle system, so I drew something in Inkscape and converted it with VTFEdit. It looks fine in VTFEdit: http://imgur.com/GLI3sG5 and it even seems like it works in the texture browser: http://imgur.com/5CiEF4c , but when I go into the particle editor, it starts flickering randomly: http://imgur.com/ZyhtXDW . It's not any better in the SFM viewer: http://imgur.com/xEfUdsO Is there some rendering setting I'm missing somewhere? How can I start to diagnose this?

What shader method did you use (in the .vmt)? Only unlitgeneric works for particles as far as I know, others I've tried turn out bad.

Yes, that was it! Thanks. I was using LightmappedGeneric (VTFEdit's default). I didn't realize that made a difference.

As a follow-up: Actually, you're supposed to use the SpriteCard shader for particles. UnlitGeneric works, but SpriteCard comes with a few extra particle-specific features.
