How do you save skybox changes between sessions?
I had changed the skybox on a vid. did some work. saved and quit for the day. but when I came back, the sky had reset to the default one for that map. is there a way to save that so I don't have to keep changing it each time I reload that save?

no chance

you'd have to reload the skybox everytime

or alteratively never turn off sfm

Yeah, if there is a way, it is not obvious. I have had to reload it every time.

Can you not write a script that accesses the console and sets the skybox? A map cfg file?? Not sure.

Maybe, but I know nothing about scripts other then how to use ones others have made.

GOT IT!!!!

Here's what you do...

Open a text editor and enter the line

sv_skyname {and the name of your skybox here}

File save that as

Everytime you open your map the skybox will be changed to the new skyname.

Now, let's say you want this only for a particular movie, but want the skybox to be the original skybox next time you open it. That's easy too.

Copy the map for the movie and paste it into your usermod\maps
Create the RENAME.cfg file with the movie skybox and put it in your usermod\cfg folder.
Load the renamed map into your project.

Now when you open your project you'll get the changed skybox and if you open the original map, you'll get the original skybox.
