Saxxy and Textures-Do people care about good looking textures that much?

I've to make certain scenes custom, and I'll need to make textures; I've never really made overly complicated textures for grass and dirt and such

Will people really care so much if the textures are low-res as long as the overall video is entertaining?

Edit: Not saying I won't try to make it look good, don't want it to look crappy

What do you notice when watching?
Was it worth the price you paids?

"Do I notice low-res textures and find it disturbs the video?"
or somethin like that

Well, yes, I do
It breaks looks when you have high quality textures such as on models, and then low quality textures for scenery
*This is a good thing to ask myself, thank you

My concern is that with a month til saxxy week, I'll have to make a balance between working on scenery and actually animating

As long as you have a good story, it doesn't have to look as good. I've seen some great videos that had atrocious animation. and it was their story that made them great.

BUT, a great story AND good looking will stand out a little more.
