2 questions
I know i have asked this before but it appears that disscussion was deleted so i am going to ask again.

How do you attach hats to a model?

and

How do you paint hats/miscs?

I highly suggest you wrap your head around the concept of locks, as presented in the first video Dominic linked. They're VERY important, and once you understand fully how they work, you'll be able to do great stuff.

That said, they since implemented an easier way to add hats to characters. You simply have to drag the character's animation set onto the hat's animation set, then select the hat and fully apply the zero preset. This also works with most weapons.

Yeah, that's not in the tutorials because it was added later in a patch. I just happened to read the patch log when it came out ;)
