Changing item colours

Now before you say use a colour change script etc, just add an overriding element etc.

I've tried all that business and none of it works.

I've tried the colour values from here

I have been searching for a solution all morning :S

I cannot seem to edit the colour of the Tyrant's Helm correctly. It will let me change the colour, just not a colour I am wanting (I am wanting white)

Anyone know of a solution?

did you try adding the override material, float -> $basetexture? that often makes the item solid white.

The Tyrant's Helm relies on a painting technique that doesn't work in SFM, so it will never paint correctly with its current textures. They'll have to be modified. I'll see if I can get it looking right.

EDIT:

Mkay. There's still a bit of a white seam I can't seem to get rid of along the paint, but it looks pretty close to the original, and most importantly, it's paintable:
