Help! Cannot open SFM.
When I try to open SFM, it says "Failed to create D3D device!" Does anyone know, why this happens?

Nope, I have no idea what that means, but do you use a laptop?
Jackling Dec 27, 2014 @ 2:37am
Yep.

Make sure sfm.exe uses the high-performance graphic card, not the integrated one. If you have an nVidia graphic card, I can help, otherwise the internet should be able to. This is of course provided you have a dual-graphic card laptop.

How do I know, which one I am using?
Zappy Dec 27, 2014 @ 2:50am
You can't, unless you manully set it to use the integrated or high-performance graphic card for sfm.exe. If you don't, your graphic card can be picky, and change whether it uses the integrated or high-performance card after a Source FilmMaker or video driver update.

Any way I canset it, to the high one?

As I said, I can help you if you have an nVidia graphic card, otherwise Google can.

In Steam, click Steam > Check for Video Driver Updates... and you should come to a website thingie for whatever your graphic card is. That way you should know.

I did it, and went to the website. But I see nothing that tells me about what card I have.

In my case, I go to an nVidia site, and as you don't, you probably don't have an nVidia graphic card. Use Google to figure out what graphic card you have, then use Google to figure out how to force an application to use the high-performance card.

Is there such thing, as a NVDIA GeForce GT 740M, Grpahics Card?
Zappy Dec 27, 2014 @ 3:48am
Probably not. The closest I think there exists would be a NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M.

Wait, that is what I have. But there is no line, under the first I.

That was an underline to show the difference between what you asked and what I think exists.
