Can't paint items

Specifically, the golden garment and the archers groundings, both for sniper. I'm usgin the paint tool from the workshop. Works like a charm for all the miscs ive tried so far, except for these two. What gives?

ask whom? i have a feeling editing something from their vmt file might fix it, but not clue what

Download 'em and put them in Steam\SteamApps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\tf\materials\models\workshop\player\items\sniper\sbox2014_archers_groundings
and
Steam\SteamApps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\tf\materials\models\workshop\player\items\sniper\xms2013_sniper_golden_garment

Check the workshop every once in a while, you may find a repaired texture or two.
