Any perament fix to the Unspported Graphics Card issue on SFM
I have a Nivdia Geforce GT 745m series chip with an Intel Integrated 4500u Series video card. I tried everything over the rainbow and I know I can support directX 9.0c shader v.3. Honestly I think windows 8.1 has something to do with compatibility issues between the two graphics cards. Because I can play Arma III, World of Tanks, War Thunder, and Mech Warrior without any problems what so ever. I'll try running the compatibility mode to window's Vista for SFM and go from there. If you have any other suggestions, let me know.

The fix is to turn off Secure boot in Bios, Once that is done, SFM should find the Nivdia over the Intel chip. I;m not sure if you can turn the secure boot back on after SFM finds the higher end card or not.

Thanks, I'll try that out and hopefully it will work.

I... have no idea what Pte Jack is talking about, honestly, but what I did (for my nVidia GeForce GT540M and Intel-something dual graphic chip laptop) was to open the nVidia control panel after launching and closing Source FilmMaker, then on the left I went to 3D-settings > Administrate 3D-settings (could be "options" as well, blame my non-English computer), and beside the drop-down list of programs, I clicked on "Add", selected Source FilmMaker from the list, added that, and changed "Use global option (NVIDIA-processor with high performance)" to "NVIDIA-processor with high performance". That fixed it. You may want to update your graphic card driver, too. (Steam window > Steam > Check for Video Driver Updates)

Also, do not use compatibility mode for Source FilmMaker. Don't.

Maybe so, but what I did worked for me.
