Whats the difference between player. models and hwm. models?

Yes. HWM models are mostly used for videos, due to the additional processing power required to use it. HWM stands for hardware morph, where the facial flexes are much more realistic.

There are a ton of other differences as well in the actual mesh and bone structures of the characters. It is what causes many of the clipping issues with load out items if you are HWM rather than game models. Here's an example of some of the differences of the scout models.

Aside from the much more precise Hardware Morphs flex system, they have much higher poly fingers, and wrinkle mapped face textures that change dynamically with facial expressions. Other details are sometimes higher poly as well, like the Sniper's hat and glasses.

The other thing is that they could have different bodygroup options, ie the ability to remove the sniper glasses altogether.

Just set the mod filter to tf_movies and search "hwm".
