Increasing length of sequences
Hi all,

I have imported a walking sequence for a player model, and then used a rig to alter their pose to the way I wanted. However, I need to increase the length of the shot. The problem is that the animation set of the character stops walking after a while, and then disappears completely.

Is there a way that I can change this, and increase the amount of time that the character walks forward?

Thanks for that tip. However, that's not the problem for me.

This is what the motion editor looks like for my model:

As you can see, at the end, the lines all go flat, which indicates that the model stops its walking animation, and just stays in place.

How exactly can I just get it to continue its walking animation? Even if I use the graph editor to increase its x translation, that won't help me to continue the actual animation.
You increased the length of the shot?? did you increase the length of the aniSetEditorChannel for your model to match the new clip length

In Clip edit mode, double click the shot and check the yellow/oranagish line and make sure it is slightly longer than the clip time.

pretty sure he just wants to know how to increase the time that the imported walking animation sequence goes for in the motion editor... since he has now decided he wants it to go longer than he originally set when he imported the sequence...

i don't know how to do it as i don't really animate with the motion editor or imported sequences, but i know there is probably several different ways to go about it. for anyone that animates with the motion editor this is an ez question i imagine.

Yes, that's exactly what I need to do.
He might try copy and pasting a segement of the original walk sequence to the point that the old sequence ends. Use a little ramp to blend the added sequence into the old. ???
I did try copy/pasting some of the old walk sequence. However, this causes the model to teleport back to an original point during the sequence (as I am also copying the x position). How exactly can I use the graph editor to alter the x position to continue from where the walk animation originally ended?
don't select the roottransform or the pelvis when copying.
Oh, ok. Thanks for the reply.

When I select the model, I select it in the Animation Set Editor, which selects all aspects of it. Is there a way to deselect the rootTransform and pelvis aspects?
expand it. click the little + next to the name. then hold ctrl and click the pelvis and root
Great! Thanks for that.

However, another thing I noticed at the end of the sequence is that the x, y and z translations do weird jumps, which causes the model to 'teleport' out of the scene. Here is what they look like in the graph editor.

Is there a way I can fix this and make the graphs look smooth again?
you didn't have all time selected in the motion editor. either when you positioned the model to where you wanted it, or when you imported the sequence.
I could have sworn I did have all time selected in the motion editor when I imported the sequence. But anyway, is there a way to fix these jumps in the graph editor? I try to create a key frame at the jump, but I can't seem to alter the value to get the lines to match up. I'm not very good with the graph editor, though.
I'm not that familiar with the graph editor, but I think I would select a point in time just beyond the shot end and place a mark there, move the character into the finish pose. Ensure that linear is selected then place a mark just before the jump. that should put it pretty close (I think), then work backwards to the end of shot or where your want the pose to end making any adjustments. Like I said, I'm not sure if this will work, make a back up before you try it.
