HL2 models as player models?
How do I use Half-Life 2 models in place of the Scout, Engineer, ect? I wante to record me running around as Combine Police instead of the Scout.

I've been searching and trying to do it myself but I just can't figure it out. I've seen a few videos that appear to be doing it. Example1 Example2

Can anyone explain or point me to a tutorial?

You can't, and I'm pretty sure it's all manual animation and imported sequences in the vids you linked. Even if you were to have an HL2 character override a TF2 playermodel, the animations wouldn't work since HL2 uses 8-way animations instead of 9-way like in TF2.

That's not to say there's no way to make it look like you did, however. If you record a take, you can then import the HL2 character, import its running sequence and lock/zero their roottransform to the recorded TF2 character's roottransform. Shouldn't look too bad, in theory.

This works. Because TF is so fast, I used the Heavy instead of the Scout during the take and it came out pretty good.

Just incase anyone is ever searching and finds this thread.
