Help with taunt import
Hello people, you may recognise me, hopefully not :P. Anyhow, I am here today with a question concerning the import of taunts not belonging to the class it is meant for. Say for example, I want a soldier salute taunt or sequence for the medic, how would I go about doing so?

You might mark the medic and a soldier and then import a sequence to the soldier. This will make the medic do the same, but his bones will look wierd. I'm sure there is another way to do this, but I dont know how to

There are a couple of ways to do it, but it may cause warping of the chararacter you're trying to apply it to. The Heavy is not the same size as the Scout. The taunt moves bones, because the skeletal position of the bones is different, if you export a taunt animation of a Heavy then import the export to the Scout the scout will morph to the size of the Heavy's bone structure. (Understand?) But, that's one way. Another is this way, (haven't used this in a while)... OR you can decompile the taunt animation, rework the taunt in a 3D Editor to fit the character and recompile the taunt after it has been adjusted and import it.

Just a few ways to do it.

How the heck do you guys find out all this? BTW you could just have right clicked the scout at 20:30 and selected unlock transforms

Not at the time that particular video was made. The Unlock Transforms was a feature added in an update after the video was made. As for finding this stuff, it's called trial and error.
