how do i upload an sfm poster

i recently finished my first poster and want to upload it but i don't know how. Someone please help.

Go to your steam profile, then click Artwork. Upload Artwork should be there. Upload your file.
Be sure to check the box at the bottom about the statement that you've created the artwork.

for me it saves as a DMX file. i made this poster for a friend and would like to upload it to tumblr so he can save the image and use it. but i cannot open .DMX files. even when i render it as a jpeg or a jpg. i need some goddarn help

Do not use the DMX files (except to load a session in SFM). They are only opened in SFM and they are NOT pictures.
To get a poster, you must go to File > Export > Poster.
Set a path for your poster, so you will know where it goes, instead of searching through your SFM folders.
Export it as jpeg or PNG and look for it in the folder you've set it.
Upload it to tumblr.
