Help with "cutting out lines in the graph editor"
I didn't know how else to put it because I am still a noob at this software. Anyway my situation is: I inserted a custom run animation to a HWM Demoman but it is too long and I wanted him to stop, So obviously I deleted the keys from the point when I wanted him to stop. I thought this would work but it didn't. I went into the graph editor and I noticed that the "lines" for the run were still there. My question is, How can I cut out these lines? and can you explain it in a simplified way please.

Any help is really appreciated and sorry my stupidness.

because when you import a sequence or animation it imports it to the motion editor. you have to cut it there.

that green section in the motion editor can be adjusted by grabing the sides and pulling it inward. you can then highlight the section you want to remove and right click and select delete samples.

Thanks. Although I have one more question. When I deleted the samples it did delete the lines but now there are lines going diagonally up and once the demo falls over he kind of floats back into his standing position an I can see the "green dotted track" that he follows. My question is how do you stop that "green dotted track"?
And once again sorry for my stupidness.

you didn't delete all the sample. it's possible you left out the root transform or pelvis.

(also, c u t is a censored word?)

The root transform is deleted but it seems everything else isn't and it won't let me delete the samples for any other body part. It has deleted other actions but it won't delete the one that moves everything forward. The green dotted track is still there too (whether thats relevant or not). Any ideas on what to do?

What you could do is select the part of time you want your demoman to stop in the motion editor, and then move the playhead preset all the way. Or you could insert a new animation into the selected time. Hope that helps.
