My first real SFM video!
I finished this a while ago, but was lazy in uploading it to youtube...

i can't give you any, as i have yet to even try to make my own. im a total noob with the program im learning myself.

Pretty neat. Good use of locks and IK rigs, I can see you know your SFM.

A pet peeve of mine is attention to little details, and because of that the Scout's dog tags irked me a little bit. They're completely static, then at 1:06 they rotate and clip into the Scout's shoulder, only to remain stuck there for the rest of the vid. People always forget the dog tags though, even I did in a shot or two in RotES ;P

Aside from that, I'd say increase your motion blur samples, and make the camera FoV narrower, especially in close-up shots.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I see what you mean about the dogtags. I find jigglebones tricky to work with.

What exactly are motion blue samples?

The amount of motion blur and depth of field (DoF) samples determines the quality or "smoothness" of those effects. SFM defaults to 8 samples, which is in no way sufficient for the effect to look convincing. My latest video was rendered with 64 samples of each, which is noticeably better (although not quite perfect, but in a 720p motion picture it's good enough IMO).

Bear in mind this also makes the video exponentially longer to render, since it has to render many images and blend them together into one.

These settings can be accessed by right clicking a viewport and clicking render settings.

I like the idea. I loved Soul Eater tho so hearing black paper moon is instant good mood. I'm brand new to SFM also >>.. I like using it but hate that SFM is so hated. I enjoy the workflow MINUS importing stuff. The graph editor is like cake for me. You seem to have the basic idea with changing the camera angles. Keeping the feel of an action scene going.

Its kind of hard to give the right kind of advise at times like this, rather, I think you know what u need to improve on. My advise is do that now, and don't take shortcuts. Learn and then put everything you have learned in your next video, repeat. Then check back with us. If you ever get into making dance videos, join my group. I'll accept them at any level.

My first video was just Glados singing, so the amount of stuff you have going on is already more advanced than what I first did.

Ok, thanks for the helpful reply. I'm not sure my computer could handle any higher settings, but I'll see!

Thanks for the feedback. I love Soul Eater too - it's my favourite show. What do you mean that "SFM is so hated"? Good for you that you find the graph editor easy to use. It's the opposite for me.

I'll let you know about your group. I have a possible idea for my next video. It doesn't so much involve dancing, but singing. The problem is getting all the custom assets I need.
