Why do scripts corrupt SFM sessions?
Whenever I use a script like Doc's Hat Paint and model cloaking, SFM crashes upon opening up the session where the scripts are used. I figured out the scripts were the problem but why does it do it?

I thought this was fixed ages ago? Make sure the workshop has given you the latest version of Doc's scripts.

Anyway, the reason it does it is that SFM is an internal beta tool and as such has no safety nets against bad things happening.

Scripts are all well and good, but they're just a convenience. I do everything manually in the element viewer and I never ever broke a save. Well... not one I didn't intend to at any rate :P

well, i would manually paint hats, but Doc's fixed Dapper Topper can't be painted manually. or atleast when I tried it.

There's no way it can't. Scripts can't do anything we can't manually.

Sooo you didn't read the item's description or watched the attached video? Jack clearly describes how to paint it through override materials.
