How to Make a Breathing/Idle Animation? (Without Importing Sequences)
Hello everyone.
I've got some custom models that I need to use in my video, and I've got them posed and everything - but I need them to look alive. I know the most popular tip is to import sequences to certain parts of the body but these models do not have any sequences.
I've tried exporting an idle sequence from the TF2 engineer into an animation, and importing that animation to the custom models... but that just spazzes it out.
Does anyone know a relatively simple way to animate models to look like they're breathing?
Thanks.

You might try using the scale ability; scale and adjust the bones as needed. However, you'll most likely need to do a lot of counter-animating if you do it this way.

An old method I used to use is to apply a bit of jitter preset to some of the character's main bones (pelvis, one of the spine bones, upper arms, whatever the scene requires), then stretch the hell out of the time selection to slow it down to a crawl. I then would apply the smooth preset like ten times, perhaps a bit of playhead if the motion is too exaggerated. It doesn't loook too bad, You can see it in action in my very first video, Meet the Gift-Givin' Heavy.

Thanks! That worked really well!
