Adding Source games to sfm?
Hi,
Is there any way to put source game content (CS:S,CS:GO,DOD,etc.) in sfm?
I have seen guides that say to extract the shared .gcf file, but I cant find that due to the steampipe update. Is there any way to add source games to sfm?
Thanks,
Carl

Same process as before, navigate to steamapps/common/(game)/(game) and find the VPK files (you will find many, you want the xxxxdir.vpk of which there may be severak., for sound, textures etc) and, using GCFScape, extract their contents to steamapps/common/Source Filmmaker/game/(abc), where abc is an arbitrary (but ideally relevant) folder name. Finally, in game/usermod, in gameinfo.txt, where it says "Game hl2" etc Add another line in which hl2 is replaced by abc. Should be okay afterwards.
Just for reference, if you find a guide that mentions a batch file, ignore it; it's probably an old guide.
Some games don't functional perfectly in SFM, for example L4D2 doesn't like SFM too much and CS GO maps are broken (there are replacement maps in a discussion from a day or two ago).

You need to install the game AND launch it at least once for the files to get extracted.

What's in your sourcefilmmaker/game/css/ folder?

So, your path to the models from css would be SteamApps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\css\models exactly, correct? No spaces or anything?
Also, in SFM, sorry to state the obvious, but you're sure that you can't select css under the drop-down menu when selecting mods for spawning content? You can't scroll down beyond workshop? If you can, it's a matter of content error, but if you can't, it's a directory problem.

Yes, but HOW is it placed? What does the actual filepath to one of the models and one of the materials look like, for instance?
