Troubling getting started - Linux

Game loads fine, but then I can't get past the "create profile" prompt.
If I hit tab, it selects the name input field and will let me type whatever
I want, but there is no way to hit the accept or cancel button.
Doesn't respond to mouse clicks and I have tried every button on
the keyboard.

Same problem here. I'm on 32bit archlinux using the ati open-source drriver, if that matters.

I actually (sort of) resolved this problem. Bad form on my part, should have posted it right after I figured it out. Interestingly, I am also using Arch except 64bit (obviously that's not the problem for once!).
If you play around with the mouse on the title screen, you will find that if you hover the mouse somewhere up and to the left of where the option buttons appear to be, they will start to light up. You kind of have to move slowly because the "event" areas are kind of small. All the buttons in all the menus are offset like that. Once you get through the menus the game plays fine. Hope this works for you, too.

Thnx! I got through the menus and in game. The mouse is still acting weird though.

Is that so? I think I used an xbox controller to play...

I didn't think of that. I had a logitech controller plugged in but didn't check. I'll check it out later.
