there's not enough time to make it to the door before it shut and you can only make one attempt before having to start over.

My Volcano Crater map is upside down. Makes is a bit more difficult to say the least.

Yeah, its a bit of a pain, there's a couple other ways to do it depending on what power you have equipped without ever using the button.

Yeah, I got seriously confused over that switch as well. On most switches you never know what they trigger to start with and having a one time timed trigger to advance the level is just a very terrible design decision in my book. And the volcano level isn't the only one with this issue, the same thing happened to me on the sky map.

At the volcano I could at least smash the boulders blocking the way and make it past the hole they were blocking without using the timed door and ramp at all, but in the sky you are screwed.

Another issue I have with the volcano map is the brightness level: it is way too dark and there is no option to change that. I have to do the part where you speed through the halfpipe curves almost blind visioned.

I finally beat this level. That switch is bugged, but you can hop around the gate. Then without jumping just push the ball against the wall the boost is on and it will fall over and then everything's fine.

I also circumvented the broken switch on the sky level as well. Where the gate opens, right in front of it, jump on the brown crate, then onto the broken pillar on the right. You have to jump as soon as you land on the pillar and you can hop right around the gate.

It's a shame these bugs are in the game, because I really enjoy it, but at least it doesn't TOTALLY break the levels.

What are you guys talking about? You have as many tries as you like for that. Just jump into the boost, and you can jump back town to where the switch is, and press it again. It took me about five tries to finally figure out that you can push the ramp so that the boost points towards the weak section of the wall. :)
