Damn this game is hard
As the title states this game is extremely hard to beat.

I partially agree, but it seems that this game is build like " try, die and lose" and next time you know the routes and composition of incoming army.

that's certainly part of it -- another thing I found is that if you put up 2 generators the game is vastly easier than if you try to get by with only one.

Each level (after the first ones which are quite easy) are designed so you should use a particular strategy. Going with another strategy will inevitably lead one down the "try, fail, try, fail" route. But finding the right one can be very rewarding.

I prefer games where multiple strategies work. Not a bad game, but too tough for me. I guess I will try it at the easiest level.

I agree. I prefer a multiple strategy style game.

I have to agree double generator seems to be a great help.

Starting to look like I'm the only person thats actually used multiple strategies to complete levels. Its easy to fall into bad habit strategies like missile launcher or cannon spam. I completed the game on normal without even using half the weapons before going back to try out some of the more difficult to place towers

I've been trying different approaches too, and I've gotta say, I was surprised at how well
some of them worked, when I was thinking they wouldn't work at all. An upgraded
vulcan can work wonders. What caught my with surprise after the first few levels
was that I actually had to think. A bit more than I anticipated. haha

I agree, usually a tower defense game is really easy and boring for the first 20 minutes but this game is challenging right from the first training level!

I have played right throughout the campaign and found it challenging but fun until the hardest difficulty. Unstoppable..

This difficulty made me stop playing the game. Don't get me wrong.. it was probably only the last 2,3 maybe 4 missions when i finally said yea stuff this. You soon realise unlike many other great tower defence games where generally if you are smart enough with your placements etc you can still scrape a win on a hard map. Unstoppable gorg on the other hand has generally only 1 possible way to beat the last few missions. If you do not do it that one particular way, you lose.

This was the only annoying thing i found. I like to be different and creative, finishing different maps with various startegies. The last few missions on "unstoppable" do not allow you to do so. Apart from that it is still a great game.

You can use different strategies its just difficult to place some towers effectively or they may require a bit of micro. First playthrough I just used vulcan, cannon, missile launcher and the laser as my only offensive weapons. Missile launchers are effective against anything when upgraded and have massive range so that was the cause for the bad habit of repeat setup.

It wasn't until going back through I actually realised how good other towers can be, the challenges taught me how good the bombs are as well either for collector start then nuke the first wave, making up for any holes on your tower effectiveness or slowing down big targets.

The rotating beam is probably the hardest to use but if its positioned well it has amazing crowd control. Same for the electric fence. The poison missile has surprisingly high damage output once upgraded especially combined with a webber. The only thing that didn't really seem viable in the end was the black hole. Doesn't last long enough to be anything but a last resort and its better to just take a slow bomb to give your towers more time to shoot.
