Am I doing something wrong here?

Okay so I am now teamed with the two dudes (forgot there name) I am in Hobo Alley trying to find a place to live. However I for the life of me cannot beat two of those horny little robots becuase they almost always one hit or just do crazy damage. and I don't have enough scrap to upgrade weapons. What do i do? I am getting pissed off.

yeah I had the same problem you have to time your blocks in the game and hit the right key ( I believe space) to completely block their attack and allow you to counter them. I can't seem to get it down just yet.

I started playing on easy to practice this and still enjoy the game without dying a lot. Happy I did because there is this boss that has a lot of health and hits hard.

Time the blocks or if that's a problem then you can fall back on using inventory items. Use the attack down on them and they'll hit for 1 damage or something silly for the next attack or two. Use speed ups on your own characters and defence down on the bots to make them easier to kill (use Tycho for item spamming as the bots are resistant to firearms if I remember right).
Also if you have Hot Toddies I think the bots are vulnerable to them so they'll do 160 damage each.

Those bots are a significant jump in toughness when you first fight them in Hobo Alley, but they are fairly easy to block. Just look at their health bar when they attack and learn the timings. Eventually, you should be able to block and even counterattack with relative ease. If you have too much trouble with them, lower the difficulty, try tossing some hot toddies, or see if killing some hobos first to level up helps

Ya i had to restart the game on easy, i died so much wasnt fun anymore, i now still can die, i just am rying to time block (spacebar) better and you can farm combat items, so i burn threw those a lot, and Hobos are Resistance to Gages punches, so he is kinda a medic, but Ty can blast them so use +dmg potion on him
